We are a playground especially for the nursery and primary classes to provide an outdoor recreational environment for children. We have modern recreational equipment like the seesaw, merry-go-round, swingset, slide, jungle gym, chin-up bars, sandbox, bouncing castle, playhouses, and mazes, many of which help children develop physical coordination, strength, and flexibility.
The Career Counselling Department is very active and provides careers education and guidance throughout the school to support each of our student’s preparation for working life. We aim to develop each student’s knowledge of opportunities available to them so as to make informed decisions regarding their future. Career Talks are organised periodically by the school to keep the students sensitised about their future.
ALIS operates a bus service with a fleet of two Toyota Coaster Buses and one Toyota Hiace Bus to assist parents with the hassles of school run. The convergence point is the Praise Temple of Amazing Love Assembly in Trans-Ekulu where the children are transported to the school at Emene. The school has a policy that if five parents can organise themselves in an area, a bus service can be arranged to pick and drop their children and wards.
The school has a medical clinic to handle emergencies and from time to time, the students are visited by consultant pediatricians, dental surgeons, ophthalmologists and optometrists. These visitations have helped many parents to know the status of their children’s health, eye and dental state. New intakes are required to complete a confidential medical questionnaire.
Music has become an integral part of our school life. With the various state-of-the art musical equipment, as well as our local instruments. The Music Department takes the student through various branches of music – history, psychology, philosophy, performance, production, sociology, media and technology and ethno-musicology.
The school provides wide varieties of healthy food from the dining room during lunch breaks. Our caterers use only fresh, locally produced, seasonal food to prepare the pupil’s meals. The school also takes into considerations the needs of students with allergies or with special diet needs.
The school runs a wide range of sporting activities to keep the children fit and help some develop their sporting skills in Football, Swimming, Table Tennis, Basketball, Badminton and Athletics. Every students of ALIS are encouraged to learn swimming.
The school organises various educational trips to areas of interest thus enhancing student’s development and understanding of a subject. Visits are made to galleries, museums, zoos, industries, airports, and other areas of developmental interest.
Recitation has been proven over the years to improve brain functions and so our students are encouraged to recite the Holy Scriptures. We strongly believe this will help build their whole man and shape their future under God.
ALIS Library provided opportunities for students and staff, to have access to a variety of resources ranging from school textbooks, maps, encyclopedias to reference publications. In ALIS we believe our library is truly integral to our students’ teaching and learning processes and promotes curiosity, innovation, and critical thinking.
ALIS operates a demonstration farm where students are given hands-on agricultural practicals on issues concerning crop identification, planting, management, supplying, harvesting and preservation. Students have had opportunities to plant maize, cassava, yam, vegetables, pineapple, pumpkin, pepper, tomato and okro.
Drama continues to be energetic, exhilarating, challenging and panoramic for our students. The Drama Department is responsible for our drama productions, with commitment to extend every student’s range of experience and understanding.
